Jack Wingate passes at the age of 82

Jack Wingate, who made Lake Seminole a popular destination for bass fishing, passed away Thursday afternoon, according to Ivey Funeral Home. He was 82 years old.

Jack Wingate passed away Thursday afternoon at his home in the Faceville community.  Jack was a legend in the sport of bass fishing, and was a player in the start up of B.A.S.S.  Jack assisted and help promote the early days  of B.A.S.S.  When interviewing Ray Scott on Pro Angler Radio Mr. Scott told us that “Jack’ was like an angel in the way that he helped him back then. Jack was a great story teller and loved to help the folks in his community in their time of need.  He will be missed.

Bass clubs and individual that would like to show their condolences are ask by the family to donate to the American cancer society in his name.
